I’m not sure how I didn’t know about it… but I didn’t.  Thankfully this amazing document was brought to my attention recently.  The document discusses a number of important topics for all who have an interest in traditional and complementary medicine (CM).  It also makes recommendations regarding “member states’, key stakeholders and the WHO.  Most importantly the WHO discusses the importance of the role of CM in the future of healthcare.  I encourage you to grab a cup of tea and sit down and have a read.

Many countries now recognize the need to develop a cohesive and integrative approach to health care that allows governments, health care practitioners and, most importantly, those who use health care services, to access T&CM in a safe, respectful, cost-efficient and effective manner. A global strategy to foster its appropriate integration, regulation and supervision will be useful to countries wishing to develop a proactive policy towards this important – and often vibrant and expanding – part of health care.
